If we get 3 responses by Thursday afternoon for a game I will login...otherwise it seems like Thursday Night games are dying...
anyone up for a Saturday late afternoon / evening game this weekend?

I think we need to have one regular game a week, or interest will die out. I'd hate to be stuck with only email games, they're not half as much fun.

Somehow we need to get a bigger core of Thursday night players so that if one or two regulars don't show up there can still be a game. I'll try again tonight and keep my fingers crossed my VASSAL/computer issues have subsided.

My wife is heading out of town early tomorrow so I may be helping her with last minute errands and such after I get home from work (which is also crazy right now). I will do my best to be on though. My interest has not died for thursdays, it is just that real life is kicking me in the tail rudder lately.

I can host the game on my computer.
To connect directly to me:
1. Open up the VDP controls as you normally would,
2. click on File, then Preferences.
3. in the Preferences window, click on the Server tab, then select 'Direct peer-too-peer
4. Through the Server window, connect to 216.36.141.134:5050

I am also still interested, but my schedule doesn't let me play until after 9. I'll see if things are up at that point for game 2

I think I've got it working now.
Can't find "File/Preferences", only "File/edit preferences" which didn't have a server tab. I might have an older version of vassal saved (I've been loading it direct from the website recently)
Did find the "server link" started a server and put your IP address in.

I reloaded, and still can't connect to Brendan, though he seems to be connected to my computer with no problem.

i try & launch & all i get is page cannot be displayed....the main website is vassalengine.org, right?

The website is down tonight. The only way to launch Vassal is directly from your computer.
