Hi everyone, it's been a while since we played and we wanted to clear something up.
When you recieve (as an example) a critical hit ot the right wing (#7 under critical hits wing)it states Aileron hit-cut turn speed by 10 MPH no opposite turns or banks permitted(if right wing, no left turns or banks permitted).
My question is does this include anything else going left besides a simple turn and or bank?
Would it also include a circle left (which is a reversal maneuver) or wingover left (which is a fancy maneuver)?
I do see that circle is listed under reversal and wingover under fancy and in other sections of the critical hits table it mentions fancy seperately but it says nothing of reversals etc
thanks

Wish I could answer it. I think we'll need Al or Dan or someone to pitch in on this one.

Hi guys,
Yes it does include circles, banks and all things left. What happens mechanically is that the part of the plane that allows you to move to your left (aileron) is not working. It won't push against the air to allow you to turn.
Hope this helps.

I was going to say the opposite... that it included any natural left turn of any length, plus the LT and LB cards. Other forms of left maneuver can be done with an operational left aileron by using rudder and right aileron.
Remember, ailerons go both up and down, which means that losing one aileron does not eliminate all banking ability of the airplane... it merely cuts the plane's banking ability in half because the right aileron will still help push the plane into a left bank by moving downward, forcing the right wing upward.
This, plus an operational rudder, still allows significant control over the airplane. So left movement in normal circumstances (moving forward and simply turning left) and the left turn and left bank cards already represent a pretty hefty restriction on left movement. Should probably throw in More than enough, IMHO, to represent a destroyed left aileron.
Remember, and airplane can be maneuvered (slowly) with no ailerons at all. That's what the rudder is for.

Have to agree with Stephen. The critical hit as written clearly states 'turns or banks' , specific manuevers. It does not not say, a/c may not go left at all. You may not face left at the end of a barrell roll left however. (if no left T/B)

Also.......you may not circle left (having reread the ? ) since it is a continued turn left. Again if crit is no left t/b.
