I am looking to run a game, standard rules, BUT it will be an ON THE CLOCK game, so please read following rules before signing up!
There will be a time limit on moves for this game, in the interest of trying a 'fast' email game. Once it has been declared that it is 'your turn', each player will have 2 days (48 hours) to complete their move. IF it is not completed in this timeframe the moderator (myself) will perform a 7 straight move with no gain or loss of altitude and declare their move done and the clock will start for the next person in turn order. I will be sending 24 hr warning notice emails as well, to make sure players know it is in fact their turn.
Exceptions- Obvously summer is tough with vacations, travel & such, so at the beginning of each turn, players will be able to declare the possibility that they will not be able to finish their move it if comes up . This, and other obviously extreme circumstances will be taken into account and allowed.
The idea is to see how a 'clock' works as far as keeping an e-game going. It seems like the last few games have stalled out for no apparent reason, so this will be a test to see if does /does not improve the e-game format....
Once four have signed up I will roll up game details & send out an email to the players!

Ha, I was wondering why you'd be starting this with number 8 still going on, but with number 8 moving at glacially slow speed your time limit makes sense.

The biggest problem with e-games is the pace at which they move (or don't move). Putting a time limit on moves keeps everybody in the game. I'll admit I've lost interest in e-game #7 because I've made something like 4 moves in six months. I do think the key to keeping the game flowing though is keeping them small. It's much more difficult for the moderator ( I know, I've moderated probably half the games) to keep track of bunches of e-mails and moves than it is to track a four or five player game. I do think there are circumstances though where delays are OK as long as the player(s) in question lets everyone know what's going on. If my move may be coming up and I tell everyone I'll be out of town for a week, I see no problem with that.
That all being said, Andy, sign me up! Of course the first thing I'm going to mention is that I'll be out of town from May 24 thru May 30th.

You are more than welcome Rick! OK we have four, I will get the scenario rolled up, and send out an email with game info that will include a request for pilot info from each side. Once I have this, we can start turn #1. Kirk is out of town until the 30th, so that gives another week for players to sign up, so if you are interested post it here!
