Hey all,
I would like to put together another campaign for this Spring/ Summer and make it into a ‘VDP Tournament’ of sorts. The logistics would include a total of 4 missions, and would require 6-8 players. In order to pull this off, it will take some planning, as we have had troubles even pulling together a foursome these days.
In order to get rolling on it, I would like to find out how players would like to spread it out, 4 missions over 4 weeks on Thursday nights, OR do an all day Saturday event, OR weekend event where we run 2 games Sat, 2 on Sun, or a Fri/ Sat/ Sun mix.
If I get six interested responses, I will pull it together and do a 2nd poll to lock down a date. I know the poll only allows you to vote once, so please if you do vote, also place a post and include if you are open to the other options as well.
How it would work- The campaign would be based on an actual historical battle that occurred in the war ( I am thinking of using the Battle of Le Hamel 4th July 1918) each mission would focus on the air support role for each side. Each mission will most likely include 2 seaters, which we have not used too much yet in VDP. We would score games using the typical DP score sheet (see my website for a copy) but also award points to each side for objectives completed.
I will keep a separate ‘trenches’ map as well to show outcomes of the effects that each mission would have on the battle on the ground.
