My name is Mark
I recently found a copy of DP in a local hobby shop. I have read through the basic rules several times but I am having some problems getting started. I would appreciate any help in getting started with a game. I was'nt sure about jumping into a online game. I did'nt want to slow down the group with a 1000 questions.

Doc, you have nothing to worry about. We routinely have newbies join our online games, and it's the easiest way to learn the game (provided you read through the rules at least once first). Actually, I've played with at least two people in the last year who were just learning it as they went. I'm sure there will be a game coming together this weekend. Keep checking the forum, and someone will likely post a game time within the next day or two.
PBEM games are also a good way to learn, since you have plenty of time to sort out your move and can always email the GM or other players for assistance.
If you have any questions, you can also post them here. Someone will likely answer you within a couple of hours. Or send me a private message.
I could run through the basics with you online if you like, but the soonest I could do it would be early next week. Perhaps someone else could help you out sooner.

Mark,
You came to the right place. Glad to see your jumping in. Thursday is our usual online game night. Usually start some time after 8 pm CT. If you have VDP loaded and can connect to the server, drop by tonight and anyone who is on will be glad to help. If you have voice chat (Skype, Team Speak) then that would be good to. I will make sure to be logged into the vassal server tonight even if we don't get enough people for a game. So drop in and chat.
If you cant get logged in. Feel free to post here and we can figure out another way to get your questions answered.
Also, Posting questions in these forums will get you answers 100% of the time.
