Sign up here for VDP Email Game #8. Feel free to suggest any preferred scenarios as well. We can give this a few weeks, see if we get a significant number of players.
For any newcomers, this is a PBEM game, so this is a way to play VDP without having to log in to our regular sessions. When things are rolling smoothly, we can complete 1-2+ turns each week, so a game could be completed in 2-3 months (however, our experience has been that it takes longer, as individual players may be unavailable at times). For more info on E-games, take a look at the threads for the previous 7 E-games.
Note: Andy, I saw your post in the Game #7 thread, and decided to run with it. Don't mean to steal your thunder.

No go for it Kev!! I think it would be great to get an 8-10 person game going, and also it would be nice to try and eliminate the 'moderator' role so all could play... but the more i think about it, the more it would extend the game out & need more emails sent. Maybe each side could have a moderator to take care of private details for each squad? That way they could each play and private rolls could be kept to each side? I would be willing to moderate one side if Kevan wanted to do the other...
... all rolls could be made in a logfile that could be sent separately to the Allied & German sides by their moderators...

I'd like to sign up, but I hate wondering if my computer will crash every time I try to play. That's why I've minimized my participation lately. It's not that I don't enjoy playing, I just hate having to deal with this problem, and wonder if any permanent damage is being done to my computer every time it happens.

You should go over to the new forums on the Vassal website and describe the problems you're having. I'm sure that your problems must have something to do with settings on your computer, since no other player has reported the same problem. With the depth of the Vassal community, I'm optimistic someone could point you in the direction of a fix.

Okay, I thought up an interesting scenario while I was suffering through a long, boring meeting today. I will send out details when I'm back home on Sunday or Monday. Andy, could you send me the names and email addresses of the other two players?
And I can easily accommodate new players who sign up before then, or even after, so feel free to keep signing up!

Is it too late to get in on this? I think I'd like to give it a shot since I haven't been able to make it to the weekly games lately. I've kinda burnt myself out on the XBox though, so maybe I'll have more time to play Vassal instead  |

Welcome aboard, Yoodle. You will be German, making it a 4 vs 4 game. I'm still waiting for pilots from the Allied players, and just loaned my extra copy of the rules to the replacement Allied player, so the game hasn't got rolling yet.
I'll email you a copy of the German pre-game briefing when I get home tonight. Or if one of the other German players sees this first, they can send you a copy of theirs.
