Another thing I can do that might be of value is to post a special page for the Ace List with a form to fill out. When the form is submitted it will be emailed straight to Rick.
That might or might not be helpful though... Rick, if you use Excel then it might be of little use. I'm limited on the forms I can post but if the idea is of interest I can tell you more.

Stephen, what OS do you use on your computer? I may be able to get you EXCEL.

WIndows 98SE, but that's not the problem. I have Open Office which is compatible with Excel. The problem is that Excel files won't post on this site template without severe corruptions. That's what finally forced me to remove the World Ace Rankings... since I couldn't post the Excel files, I had to transfer everything manually into WORD files before they would post properly. Thanks, but getting Excel on my OS wouldn't help.

The trick is that you don't post the FILE, you post a link to the file. You'll have to have it posted somewhere on a file sharing site, but it's no big thing.
And we need to talk about that issue, because that shouldn't be happening.

That could work. I don't know anything about file sharing sites, but if you can put it up on one I can certainly post a link to it. I could even make an Ace List page containing individual links to the various nationalities of aces, statistics, etc., and perhaps we could have an archive log of old Ace lists so people can track movement of pilots from one year to the next.

Rick send me your softcopy Ace List and I'll get it up on the Apache site. Really looking forward to this. And by all means add as many interesting stats as you can think of.

Stephen, Does your version of Excel have the "save as a web page" option. We use this at work to maintain our phone contacts and its wonderful. It will convert your spread sheet to HTML. Which you should be able to link into the site easily. If your using an older excel it may not have that option. But if you would like to email me a copy of the spread sheet I could send you back the html copy to test.

Yes, and I've tried it. Remember, this is really just a drastically expanded and complex template site on steroids... it is designed for direct text plug in and although there is a provision for html insertion, it does not always respond the way that a direct html site would respond.
On this site the Save as Web Page html insertions get corrupted and don't work with the page formatting.
I think ISD has taken template sites to a new level and you can barely tell a difference between ISD and an html site, but it still has its limits. Perhaps someone who is better on puters than me can make it work. I'm willing to give it a try. I'll even try the Save as Web Page again if you guys want.

Very good. We'll have it up as part of the next issue as well. It'll be a direct download from the ISD site.
