Perhaps it is just me. But I have noticed that Dawn Patrol has suffered a slight decline in popularity.
However, with the new aviation film "Flyboys" coming out I anticipate a renewed public interest in WW1 aviation. So I was just wondering, could this film be used to propel DP into the spotlight again?? Are we ready for an influx of new players?? I'm very interested on what everybody thinks about this.

Sounds like a logical rational thing to expect and because of that will most likely not be anything close to what happens....

I was talking to Mr. Carr about this topic this past fall... the release of the new version to coincide with the film would be ideal for sparking a new interest in the game. Otherwise, when you look at sites such as The Aerodrome you can see that the interest has moved to either online games or using models in a board game scenario. It's gonna be tough to attract large numbers if its not new & exciting. We have a number of new players just starting up here in MN, and from the experience I have had with them, unless the game is SIMPLE most will shy away from endless charts & rules...
