Pardon the vanity, but I thought I'd share some good news with everyone...
Schiffer Books has offered a publishing contract for my book on Lt Frank Luke of the 27th Aero Squadron. I've been working on this book for some fifteen years now and they jumped all over the project. I had two other publishing options but this one will hopefully be the best.
Woo hoo!

Way to go Stephen !! I look forward to purchasing an autographed copy when it is available. When you asked for help purchasing Dr Parks info, little did I know that my small donation would help with a BOOK !! Who knows....maybe the producers of Fly Boys may want to make a Luke movie. (fade to a close-up of a be-goggled pilot diving onto a balloon , eyes closed for a moment as a voice in his head is heard to say "use the incendiaries Luke...) ;-)
Sorry , couldn't resist. I am sure your book will be worth the wait and worth the read.

Thanks! I'm all kinds of excited. Its unheard of to get a book deal after only two phone calls, so the publishers are apparently as excited about this as I am. We're already working on pre-release publicity, etc.
I'm surprised you remember the Parks documents... of course at the time I really didn't know fersher that a book was on the way either, but I wanted to see what was out there and I had to guard things closely until a decision was made and a publisher was selected. As it turns out, the Parks material is only a fragment of the material used in the book, but it was a big boost to help me get started.
The Society has already carried the initial press release in the latest issue of Drome and wants to do more. And yes, I'm already working with some folks in Hollywood for a film but that getting WAY ahead of the game. Especially since FLYBOYS flopped at the box office.
