It might be a good idea to post the dates and location along with contact info over at board game geek on both the DP and FitS pages. There are over 200 people listed as owning one version or the other, some will be society members such as myself but it may snag a few new people. John H Thats a great idea John! Can you post just some generic info over there until we get the 'official' flier that has sign-up info & such? That way its out there to draw some early attention. |

I havent seen anything come through the mail yet about the 'con', are the dates locked in? If so, were a block of rooms reserved under any specific group name & at a special rate?

Looks like a bad weekend for me too...Pam is out of town for a conference. Unless that happens to be Spring Break weekend and the kids are out of school, I'm probably out.

Yes there is a block of rooms reserved. You have to mention this when booking and they kick you to a specialist. Really good price on the rooms too.

What is the 'magic word' to indicate we are in the group and get the rate? I seem to remember last year having some trouble with them figuring out which group we were with...

Hmmm...I just told them I was with the Dawn Patrol Group. Maybe they have less groups this year.

I called the hotel today to reserve a room and they did not have any knowledge of the 'Dawn Patrol' group or your name... what do we need to tell them to get the $79 room rate? Thanxs!

Ok Andrew, I called the hotel to figure out how I got my rooms. According to the cute little girl I talked to, you have to give them the dates and tell them you are with FITS, yup FITS not Fight in the Skies.

I'm still kicking the idea around...I have the money and that is the beginning of spring break weekend so I could come up Friday afternoon theoretically. The major concern I have is that I don't really have reliable transportation and would hesitate to head that far in my car. However, not having scored a Masters invite this time around I don't know that there would be any reason to make the trip... |

I don't think Masters invitations have gone out yet. Either that or I'm on the poop list.  I'd love to make it this year, especially for the Masters, and I've got the car and a few bucks to go on... I just don't have the time. My daughter has a concert on Fri night and I've got a Saturday night Discovery show.  Just no way to fit it all in. |
