The Spring minicon will be at the same place as the last 3 years in Milwaukee on March 28-30, with the possibility of including Thursday if there is enough interest

Hmmm might we get another Mini-mini going? The one we had last year was fun. I've got a trenches Map finished that should be interesting. 2nd Annual (however you spell it) Ghost vs Apache tournament?

Jim, I love the idea of the mini-mini!! I think we have 4 MN players coming down for sure, maybe 6. A trenches map, huh? That should make for some interesting scenarios!! I have really been itching for an aerodrome raid mission... nothing like players having to run to their planes, taxi & take off to defend their home...

According to John H. in our group, the submarines won... when his pilot was struck and killed by a boat gunner!! Still one of the best stories from that weekend I am sure he would appreciate a match up that does not involve ground fire! Maybe we could come up with an aerodrome raid for the 'big game'? I have never done one, and the aspect of having to take off sounds like fun. The question would be, if a player's pilot crashes on take off, do we allow a 'back up' plane to be available so they can stay in the game? I would think we would need to, otherwise the attackers may have a big advantage, and it would not be fun to be out of the game so early...

Hey Andrew,
We would love to have an Aerodrome raid. Scott has some rules he picked up from someone, It leaves alot of extra planes on the ground and you don't pick your pilot till your 50' in the air. (taking off under fire can be ... interesting)

Talked it over in the weekly game today and we decided to run a prize game at the Spring Minicon. Arizona rules and we will supply extra sets of tailing cards and whatknot. 1st place will receive a WWI era steel helm. (allied)
If we get enough interest we'll add some more prizes to the mix.

Our tailing rules favor experienced pilots, we play with the medium wound. And the most fun/scary are the experienced ground crews. Giving those experienced crews a possible can be scary. And on the lighter side remember if you roll three ones anything can happen!

It might be a good idea to post the dates and location along with contact info over at board game geek on both the DP and FitS pages. There are over 200 people listed as owning one version or the other, some will be society members such as myself but it may snag a few new people.
