Hi everybody, been a while. I have some real nice ww2 minis that rival my ww1 stuff and would like to put them to use. The problem is that I have tried about a dozen rule sets (actually maybe more) over the years and have never found a system that captures aerial combat in such a simple , fun and accurate way, the way DP does. I was searching the web and came up with this: home.pacific.net.au/~southernsk/dp/dp_ww2.htmHas anyone ever come across anything else or knows of anything previously done that could help me? The link above is enough to get started with Battle of Britain scenarios but was just wondering .

Speeds in WW1 aerial combat were in the 80-120 mph range. In WW2, it was more typically 320-480. So if you take the 100ft square in DP and make it a 400' square, you theoretically make the conversion to WW2 scale, at least as far as the board goes. Plane stats, that's another matter. You could talk to Al C and find out what sort of criteria was used to develop DP plane stats then make a stab at it yourself with a couple of planes to see if it plays out as well. As an example, you might look at this site if you were looking for stats on a P-38: www.acepilots.com/planes/p38_lightning.htmlIt has a nice chart at the bottom with performance characteristics. Might be worth looking at anyway.

I'm sure you could make your own counters. Plenty of WWI 3D drawings and pics out there. And think how quickly you could shoot down the ME 109 with eight Brownings!

Were you able to get the Luke map for the price you offered Kevin? I hope so. What has become of it? If it's on display, I'd love to see a picture of it. Thanks.
