BTW, no one would mistake these guys as paragons of virtue, but Larry Flynt and Hugh Hefner have far more Christ-like decency and morality than the government... at least they pay their models and never force anyone to pose who doesn't want to.

Scanned or Groped?

I’ve been thinking about the horrid situation at airports for weeks, and before that for even more months

Flyers now have the option enforced against them of either being scanned or groped. What a choice!

I haven’t flown in an airplane for years now. The last time was when I attended a conference at the Mises Institute in Alabama. I have been lucky. I didn’t need to fly or want to fly, but I still may feel I have to, and I am still deeply troubled by the scanning and groping. Both are despicable.

What I wish is that all flyers would organize and boycott all flying, or organize sit-down strikes at all the airports on a given day and hour, or organize some sort of widespread protest action or actions at specific times so as to make known their true inner feelings.

This hope banks on the notion that people now put up with the scanning and groping because they feel they have no alternative as individuals. I may be wrong. They may support it or feel it’s in their safety interest. I don’t know, but I can only express my own personal distaste for what air travel has come to and hope that someone better equipped to organize protests than I will do so. Such protests should be accompanied by publicized demands to end this travesty.

Stop it! Stop it now! Stop searching every traveler! Stop searching innocent people!

Stop searches that have no reasonable basis. Stop searches that are based only on one criterion: that the person is a traveler. What kind of reasonable basis for a search is that? None whatsoever! It is totally unreasonable to suspect everyone! It is totally unreasonable to suspect everyone who is a traveler. It’s unreasonable for the obvious reason that we all know that not one person in sixty million is a terrorist, and not one in six hundred million is at the point of trying to board a plane with an explosive device hidden on his person.

Groping and scanning are both searches. Both are equally vile. Both are unreasonable searches. Both need to be rejected.

Why should I submit to a search? What have I done to merit that? What criminal record have I accumulated in my 70 years? When have I uttered a threat against an airline? When have I encouraged anyone to blow up an airplane?

Where’s the probable cause? Where’s the reasonable basis to grope me, frisk me, x-ray me, or otherwise invade my person or property? There is none.

Where’s the warrant obtained from a judge? There is none.

It’s totally ridiculous to be searching me. I won’t stand for it. I am being assumed to be a criminal suspect for no good reason whatsoever. The people engaging in the criminal behavior are the searchers in this case, not the searchees.

I speak personally, but of course the same is true of millions upon millions of other people. What have they done to merit a search? Absolutely nothing. Nada.

There is such a thing as a U.S. Constitution, although adherence to it is zilch. It once meant something, and the government still claims it means something. What a bunch of liars and hypocrites they are. They deserve no respect. They deserve nothing but scorn. How can they conduct such searches of millions of innocent people in the face of the constitutional language?

The Fourth Amendment reads

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

There is no ambiguity here. The right to be secure in my person shall not be violated. Period. It doesn’t say that airports are an exception. Or that public roads are an exception. Or that public spaces are an exception. There are no exceptions listed.

If exceptions are allowed, such as supposedly to create safe air travel, then similar exceptions can be allowed for rail, bus, auto, and pedestrian traffic anywhere, anytime, and at virtually any place. Police state, folks. That’s what we’re talking about. Police state. We’ve got it. Now. Here and now. Don’t look now, it’s here already.

Am I an expert on the case law of searches? Have I read all the pertinent Supreme Court cases that develop exceptions and procedures and interpret the Constitution? No. I won’t waste any more time on such a fruitless endeavor. I did that for the case of America’s money. I did that in excruciating detail over the course of two solid months. I found, as have others before me, that the Supreme Court is perfectly capable of making things up as they go along. They have twisted the clear constitutional language to suit themselves and their own ideas. We cannot quietly submit to what the Supreme Court says. We must protest when conscience and reason tell us that the Court is in the wrong.

I demand the termination of these unreasonable searches and I urge you to demand the same. Boycott air travel, or else dream up some better manner of protest than I can think of. But don’t sit still for this. It’s not right, and you know it’s not right. It’s not lawful, and you know it’s not lawful. It’s mass insanity, and you know it’s mass insanity.

A Bull Market in Lead Vests?

Manufacturers of the lead vests used in dental offices to shield patients from x-rays may have a new source of revenue, thanks to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Courtesy of the never-ending “War on Terror,” intrepid DHS bureaucrats have now deployed more than 500 mobile x-ray vans. The vans drive up to suspicious looking objects, vehicles, houses, or individuals, and zaps them with a focused stream of X-rays. Technicians then analyze the reflection of the x-rays (the “backscatter”) to determine if explosives, drugs, or other contraband substances are present.

Most of the vans are deployed outside the United States in the various and sundry wars in which we have chosen to involve ourselves. But not all of them – one might be rolling through your neighborhood, right now, surreptitiously zapping your teenage daughter to make certain she’s not a suicide bomber.

That might not be as uncommon as you might think. This technology is similar to that deployed in the infamous full-body scanners used to produce full-body – and anatomically correct – images of passengers.

Not so coincidentally, it turns out that full-body scanners are useless to protect against their purported target – terrorists carrying bombs into airplanes. “I can overcome the body scanners with enough explosives to bring down a Boeing 747,” the former chief security officer at the Israel Airport Authority recently testified. “That’s why we haven’t put them in our airport.”

So, what’s the rush to employ full-body scanners – or backscatter x-ray mobile vans? Well, maybe it is to check out your teenage daughter…and not for drugs or bombs.

Maybe it’s time for a lead vest after all…if not for you, for her.

We should remember that truth is never the enemy. As John 8:32 points out, the truth will not harm us - it will set us free.

The problem is not that we're discussing sexual molestation by the TSA at airports - the problem is sexual molestation by the TSA at airports! The problem is not that we're discussing unconstitutional searches - the problem is unconstitutional searches!

If Christians were to stand against this evil, sick perversion, we wouldn't have to fear revealing truth. There would be nothing to reveal. Unfortunately, Christians have been silent (and therefore complicit) in this for too long.

By now we're all aware of the naked body scanners and sexual assault of American airline passengers. You can pose nude for leering perverts, or you can have the private parts of your body intimately fondled during what is now called an "enhanced pat-down."

TSA (Thousands Standing Around) now plans to install another 450 of their porn cameras in airports around the US so that perverted, scumbag government losers can ogle your nakedness with their "full body imaging." Each porn camera costs about $150,000.

BTW... how much did you make last year? Might 2 or 3 sales at 150 grand each improve your standard of living? How 'bout 450 of them?

But wait... Columbia University’s Center for Radiological Research finds that the porn cameras emit nearly 20 times (!) as much radiation as the manufacturer admits. Why would they knowingly continue to use a machine that - all constitutional violations aside - contributes enormously to cancer?

And by the way, just who does manufacture these things? Who's getting all this money?

Rapiscan Systems (presumably pronounced "RAPE-i-scan") is among the major manufacturers of pornographic airport cameras. Rapiscan's primary consultant is a firm called "The Chertoff Group."

Chertoff? Where have we heard that name before?

Oh, that's right. Michael Chertoff... former secretary of the Dept. of Homeland Security under George W. Bush. Sure enough, that's the same Chertoff who's the CEO of The Chertoff Group. Gee whiz. What are the odds?

Okay, next dot.

Chertoff's tenure at DHS ended in 09. He immediately went on a publicity tour touting the porn cameras as the new miracle drug to stop "terrorism." Every TV program in Amerika carried his pablum.

Strangely enough, by the end of 2009 the Chertoff Group and Rapiscan had pawned 25 million dollars worth of their porn cameras to TSA goons.

The 25 million dollar windfall for Chertoff - the faithful Republican - was funded by the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" of Barrack Obama - the faithful Democrat.

The Christian Right Is Satanically Wrong

It’s a foregone conclusion among those who love liberty that the “Christian” Right is as statist as the corporate media. “Evangelicals,” at least collectively (always the first problem), long ago left their Lord and Savior to go whoring after Leviathan.

But (Anti-)Christianity Today continues supplying proof of this long-established thesis. And so it’s posted a “discussion” entitled “Resist the TSA?” — as if there’s room to debate whether those who name the Name of Christ can obey man rather than God while encouraging gate-rape and pornography.

The Bible repeatedly, vociferously, and unambiguously commands personal modesty for godly people. Whether it’s the Mosaic Law with its prohibitions on viewing naked relatives or Paul’s orders to dress circumspectly, the Bible insists on modesty as clearly as the Constitution does on having a warrant properly sworn and signed before any search.

So resisting government’s anti-Biblical antics at the airport isn’t optional for a Christian — unless you talk to the “Christian leaders” CT quotes. These range from “Richard Land, president, SBC [Southern Baptist Convention] Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission” with his mild “I recommend that people eliminate all discretionary air travel and tell the airline each time they choose not to fly because of the security procedures [sic for “ogling and sexual assault”]” to “Penny Nance, CEO, Concerned Women for America,” who opines that our problem isn’t moral but technological. Yep, I kid you not: “It is a red herring to ask whether Christians should resist or not; the issue is much larger. Christians are not engaging thoughtfully enough with technology.”

Ah, but Penny and her fellow Women become greatly Concerned when private parties “engage thoughtfully with technology”: in 2006, “a coalition of 13 conservative groups — including … Concerned Women for America — took out full-page ads in some editions of USA Today … urging the Justice Department and FBI to investigate whether some of the pay-per-view movies widely available in hotels violate federal and state obscenity laws.” In CWA’s pagan world, pornography is wicked only when its consumers aren’t wearing government’s badges.

But the prize for Logic More Twisted Than Any Pretzel goes to “Joe Carter, online editor, First Things”: “We are commanded to love our neighbors. This requires that we take responsibility and do our part to ensure their safety.”

When the Nazis — sorry, "Feds" - begin rounding up “domestic terrorists” and sending them to the gas chambers, count on these heretics and apostates to turn the other cheek and wink a blind eye at such monumental evil.
