Woo hoo! Looks like good attendance from our local crowd. Dory said today that she's planning on it as well.

Congrats to the winner! Random thoughts on this year's game: From the write up: " Rick moved first for the Brits and set a similar trap by swinging away from the Germans, only this time, someone took the bait. Dory's all-red Triplane, flown by 20/5 ace and 15-year combat veteran Reinhold Strauss (20/5), took off in full pursuit and hammered Rick's Camel from above for 9 hits. The Camels of Stephen and Kevin followed. Kevin missed but Stephen scored 7 hits. Michael, the final Allied player, followed his wingmen but was unable to fire. " What Stephen didn't get was that of those 9 hits, one caused a 5/2 tail crit, taking away my rotary rights and limiting me to 80mph. Under those conditions, my second turn move was not enough to keep Dori from getting a good shot. Had I not gotten that, I think the whole game would have turned out differently. Secondarily, on the second turn, 2 of the Germans moved and boxed within distance of Kevin and Michael's Camels, and when I made my move further away knowing Dori would follow and it would keep the Germans spread out, instead of coming and attacking Dori (as we had discussed the need to divide and conquer prior to the game), Kevin and Michael chose to dive down into a mass of Germans. Now, that wasn't the worst move, but when I've got an ace up I hate to see my wingmen dive away from me when I'm being shot up. Had they not done that, I think my pilot may have lived (although that is purely speculation on my part). I'm not upset about it - like I told Dori, I'd rather lose an ace in the RBF than some random rolled up mission - and looking at the results it's hard to fault the decision, but that decision was really the most integral to the whole game. The loss of 3 Germans on turn 6 came directly out of that decision - that and an incredible streak of luck in the Allies dice. For the years I've played in the RBF, I think this was the best of the bunch, even with losing an ace. In fact, it was probably one of the most competitive games I've been in. Again, sorry I had to kick everyone out at 11:30, but I kinda like my house and didn't want to get kicked out of it.
