I'm 100% with you on the time thing. When I'm able to, I like to get online a little before 8 and set things up. Especially now that we have the scenario generator and counters to indicate weather details on the map, it's fairly easy to set up a game. The only thing that should take time now is rolling up your a/c and setting up your log sheet. That, and waiting for players to show up (and yes, I'm guilty of showing up late sometimes myself).
Having a low turnout has definitely made the campaign difficult for Andy to organize. I empathise, as I had similar difficulties during the campaign that I organized last summer. Even with six players turning out for many evenings, players often had to switch sides to balance things up, and an extra 15 minutes of setup time makes an impact at the end of the evening. I should have thought to mention this beforehand - for anything complicated, the rules should be written out in a handy reference document that everyone has beforehand.

Sign me up for tomorrow night Andy. I will do my best to get on a little early, but for sure no later than 8pm.

No campaign game tomorrow night, we'll just do a v14 random gen & fly that, so the 1st person online tomorrow night, go ahead & get it setup! Once we get 2, they can roll sides right away AC may be figured out, that way we can get the game rolling

My biggest issue with the online games is the start time. The two times that I've played, I've logged on on time or early, and then sat around for at least an hour before the game actually started. Being that I'm on the East Coast, it's even worse since it's an hour later for me. If there was a strict 8 PM CST start time, I think I could play more often, but I still don't see myself being able to participate more than once a month.
As for the complex campaign missions, I would hate to to drop them entirely. That's one of the things I really like about playing with you guys, it's not always a simple dogfight. But, being a newbie, there is a definite learning curve. I think it would help to get the mission briefing, maybe the map, and any new rules a few days ahead of time so that I could review and ask any questions before the game actually begins. I think my lack of understanding of the mission and the rules added a lot of delays last week.
As for tomorrow night's game, I will try to join, but I can't guarantee anything. A friend of mine is supposed to be stopping over, so maybe I can convince him to play as well. Either way I'll be a game time decision.

Should we be thinking about bumping the start time up a bit, maybe to 7:30? For me, the night is more of an issue than the time. I tend to keep my Thursday evenings open, so starting a bit earlier would be fine with me, if it made it easier for Yoodle on the east coast and those of you with early mornings.

In my case, 7:30 central is too early as I normally get my kids to bed between 7:45 and 8pm. During the summer months I will now be on almost every thursday. I had a weekly church meeting on thursday nights ever since October so that is why I haven't been around much. Those meetings are ending in May (and this particular week the meeting is cancelled).

I would love to bump the start time even to 7 if we could, and just add late comers in as they arrive... I should be on by 7 tonight & will start getting a mission setup.

so starting a bit earlier would be fine with me, if it made it easier for Yoodle on the east coast and those of you with early mornings. Although it's appreciated, please don't change the time to accomodate me. My schedule is really sporadic, so even with an earlier start time, I don't know that I will be able to make it consistently. I don't want you guys to change things for me and then never show up. That would just be rude. And, actually, the 8 PM CST (9 PM EST) works pretty well for me, as long as we start on time. By starting at 9 PM EST, I think we can usually be done by midnight EST, which is ok with me.
