Hi guys
I have recently picked up a copy of this classic here in the UK and was hoping to get some help with rules/play tips etc by joining up here!
I have a couple of tech issues I've posted up trying to use existing threads where I could find them.
I have downloaded v1.3 to start pushing a few virtual counters around but when I try to start a New Game no map appears?
I'm being thick somewhere I'm sure!
Regards
Andy

You're not being thick. The v1.3 module has been designed as a supplementary "team" module. Vassal currently doesn't support dice rolls that can be seen by one team but not another. To work around this, we've each been running two copies of the DP module - one is used for the main game, with the map and counters, and public dice rolls. The other copy is used to log in to a "team" (Allied/German) room where we can do rolls for jams, critical hits, etc, without the other side seeing them.
In designing the current version of the module, I decided to design two versions - one specifically for the main room (v1.4) and one specifically for the team room (v1.3). The team room module has been slimmed down to only those features that are needed in the team rooms. There are no maps or counters, and many of the buttons have been removed. This makes it easier for players to see which control panel they're using, and slims the team module down to 5MB, compared to 45+MB for the main v1.4 module.
This probably sounds quite confusing in print, but will make much more sense when you try it out. When you first log in to a game, use v1.4, and we can talk you through the rest.

Great to meet you Andy, and I look forward to flying with/against you. Don't hesitate to ask more questions until you are properly setup. Once you get everything working, I think you will very much enjoy the online play that Vassal and this module offers.
