BTW, I picked the late war scenario but that's only 'cause I had to choose. I'd like to do the "Big Duel" just about as much.

Ok we have a 4th, unless another signs up soon then I will just moderate & get this one rolling...
Ken, I think this is your first Email game with us, make sure you have version 1.2 downloaded as that is what we are running off of, and also make sure you are familiar with saving a game, and then creating a logfile of your move as well. Any questions we should all be able to help, but would like to have it all set before we begin to keep the game moving!

Would everyone prefer an even 3 vs 3 matchup where the moderator flies, or do 3 vs 2?

My personal opinion is that it would work better without the moderator flying, as otherwise one player has perfect knowledge.

I agree with Kevan. assuming the games are played the way we played the last two (where the moderator does all the dice rolling) he knows too much about what's going on to be able to fly a plane on his own. I think the only way the moderator can fly is if changes are made to how e-games are played such that everyone does their own rolling and then reports to the appropriate people what happens.

Yeah I was thinking about that after I wrote that last night... it wont really work for the moderator to fly... I will set up the game & we will go 3 on 2 unless a 6th shows up today...

Andy, I'm not sure I know how to do this yet, so I'll bow out

kazorm - Don't bow out. We've just started working on how to do e-mail games using VASSAL so we're all in "learner" mode right now so to speak. We're still trying to determine the most efficient way to run them. The way I ran the first two e-games was for the moderator (me) to do all the dice rolling but not be in the game myself, the assumption being it would be more efficient. Also, since that's the way the webgames worked all those years ago I figured that's what veteran DP players who participated in those would probably be accustomed to. If you'd like any info on how we ran the first two e-games, feel free to drop me an e-mail. I can tell you all the sordid details of what we did.
