Like the veritable phoenix rising from the ashes, DP webgames have returned. We're starting up VDP E-Game #1 which pits a trio of American Nieuport 28's against a pair of deadly Fokker DVII's. I'll put occasional updates on this thread as we go along to give everyone a flavor for how things are going. I'm moderating the game in roughly the same way John Noddings did for the old webgames. As we perfect the procedure, hopefully we'll be able to get a bunch of webgames going at the same time, hopefully with different moderators so we can all enjoy both playing the games and moderating them as well.

Just a quick update on our e-game. We seem to have hit a snag for the moment. We added a player, making it a three on three batttle, but we're still waiting on that player to make his first move. I've tried contacting him with no success. Also, Gary's computer crashed so he may have to drop out of this one until his computer is in working order again. I'll update everyone when something actually happens. Rex's loop to start the game was really nice though.

Just a quick update on VDP E-Gaming.
VDP E-Game #1 has just completed its first turn, with three Nieuport 28's taking on a trio of Fokker DVII's.
E-Game #2 has also just completed its first turn and pits a pair of DVII's against a pair of Camels.
As we get farther into the games and work out the kinks in the process we'll try to start more and more E-games. Eventually we may have a large number of games working at the same time. I'm currently moderating the first two games and doing all the dice rolling as a neutral third party. In future the hope is that others can moderate games, thus allowing everyone the opportunity to both play and moderate games.

Both seem to be moving awfully slow right now... any suggestions on how we could speed things up, or do ppl just not get the chance to check email that often?

I don't know how we can encourage people to quickly do their moves. Things are actually moving faster than the old webgames though simply because there are fewer planes on the board. I remember playing one of the big webgames a bunch of years back where I got to do something roughly once a month. I think from beginning to end the game took more than a year. Unfortunately these are not short term projects.

Just wondering if anybody has heard from Gary Blemings. I know his computer crashed a few weeks ago but I thought we had conversed with him since then.

Did anyone get my Email on Sat for game #2. It seems like my emails are bouncing today for some reason known only to my ISP.

Andy, can you send it to me? Hopefully I can get everything rolled and ready to go so you guys can be making your moves while I'm out of town next week.

This is just to let you guys know my computer died yesterday but it should be fixed by Wednesday. Game #1 is moving at a glacial pace anyway so my being out of commission for a couple days shouldn't be noticed. Game #2 is moving a little quicker so if you guys keep sending your moves, hopefully by Wednesday or Thursday I'll be able to do the turn 6 shooting.

Did everyone get my move for Turn 3. I sent it out on the 17th but kevan was saying today I was the one holding up the game... just wanted to be sure that there was not an Email issue. I know that could never happen (yea right).
