I think this was the one that Scott Campbell had. We played it once at Delp's house.

The miniatures just came out this month. I ordered a handful online as they look REALLY cool!! I plan on incorporating them into DP. I know Jim Pink did this w/ models on 'antennas'. I am going to try 'cubes' and hope to find cases I can mount them in. That way they can be stacked for nose up & down shots. Any ideas. comments or suggestions? If I get it together b4 gencon I will share the solution & someone could possibly run a game there w/ the models... i bet it could attract a TON of attention for the game!! Although the wings of war ppl might not be too happy

Hey Andrew,
I might suggest Lucite, or something else that dries clear. Build a form or mold and place the model in the bottom. Fill the cube with Lucite and allow to dry. This should give you an almost indestructable cube that can be stacked.
Note: I'm still driving around so I can't try this myself yet. When I get some time off I'll give it a shot.

I hadnt thought of that angle... I was thinking more just securing the base inside the cube, but indestructable would be a neat twist!

SO I got my 5 planes in the mail yesterday, & I wish I had ordered them all!! These things are WAY cool. Too nice looking to be 'cubed' I think. They are a bit too large to work on the standard 1" DP squares, so I am using the back of one of my boards to create 2.5" squares. You can add/remove pegs for height quite easily, so I think I am going to just attempt to create a few '45 degree angle' pegs so they can be pointed 'up' or 'down'. Hopefully I will have it ready by our next DP session here in MN, and will take pics & post them on the GhostJasta site.

I just got an Alb D Va. Overall I'm pleased and they're really neat, but there are some nits that should be picked.
The wing and fuselage crosses are in the late '18 form, but the paint scheme on the wings is an early D III scheme.
The rudder and tail skid shapes are the ones used on D III's, not D Va's.
The tiny reinforcing struts go from the main struts back but they should go from the main struts forward.

I am not sure on the paint scheme, but after closer inspection the tail is the DIII and not the DVa. So the modeling is not perfect, but still very cool pieces!!

The wing and fuselage crosses are in the late '18 form, but the paint scheme on the wings is an early D III scheme. I looked in the Datafile Special Albatros Fighters. It has a picture of this plane, probably the source for the modeller. The wing camo and crosses are correct. It was an early production run D Va that hung around long enough to have the crosses repainted in the later form.
