Prediction: Colts 31, Pats 19
GO COLTS!!
If the Colts win it may be by a bigger margin than people expect. If the Pats win it will be in a squeaker.

I have to be in CA on Super Sunday, so I'll be with you in spirit while watching the game from my hotel room.

I need solitude. I'll only go to the bar if there's host of Indy fans on hand. Otherwise I'll lock myself in my room and take the phone off the hook.

I invite anyone visiting this forum to post a note with a SB prediction. I'd put one down myself but I'm so darned nervous I don't think I can (or should, cos I don't want to jinx it).

I'd put one down myself but I'm so darned nervous I don't think I can (or should, cos I don't want to jinx it). Be nervous. Be very nervous. Manning puts together 3 great drives = 21 pts Vinateri is good = 9 pts Jones runs for one = 7 pts Benson runs for one = 7pts Hester scrambles for one = 7 pts Bears D creates one = 7 pts Gould is Golden = 9 pts. Final score Colts 30, Bears 37 Final drive Manning will get all the way down the field only to get picked off to end it.

No knock against the Bears, but by early in the second quarter - even before Indy took the lead - it was clear who was the better team. Chicago simply couldn't move the ball and couldn't stop the Colts. The only area where the Bears showed an edge was in special teams, and a smart coaching move (squib kicks) nullified that advantage.
The "soft, cushy dome team" took on the league's #2 defense in Baltimore and won, then took on the next top defense in the league and beat New England, then took on the vaunted #1 defense in the NFL - in the rain and mud, playing picture perfect Bears-style football - and rolled over them.
The Colts played conservatively to the extreme and settled for several field goal attempts instead of converting on fourth down. I'm not ragging on the Bears here - we have no rivalry with them and I do not hate them - but Chicago was very, very fortunate not to have been run out of the stadium and beaten 45-7.
That said, Chicago is an outstanding group of guys and I hope we don't have to play them again in a couple of years. They're going to be very good.
