Thought I'd start this one up here too, although it looked like interest may have started slacking off on the old forum... Perhaps that'll change when the next 'war' kicks off, should be in about a month and a half...

I'm not sure they will invade Iran yet... we're stretched too thin already militarily and even more critically, the Republicans are extremely vulnerable in the '06 congressional elections. Bush might get in hot water with his party bosses if he starts another war right before the election.
But I do agree that the US will attack Iran, though it may be in '07. Like Iraq, Iran has dared to begin trading their oil on the Euro, which will diminish the US dollar's value against foreign currencies. That means a lower dollar which means exposing the recession that is now being covered up by the Fed printing presses.
So Iran will get smashed by the Bush Brigade and we'll definately kill another hundred thousand or so people to prop up the US dollar... but the big question is when.

Well, to start things off, a little item of legislation introduced into the new Congressional session... thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c109:H.J.RES.24.IH:A Constitutional Amendment repealing the 22nd amendment. No joke. Haven't heard about this one on any of the media have we. It's hilarious. The GOP manages to get an amendment passed because they didn't like FDR getting elected over and over, but now they want to repeal it so their boy will be able to do the same.

James Sensenbrenner is the fanatical fascist Republican congressman from WI who sponsored and introduced the National ID Card and Internal US Passport that was passed in May of 2005. Thanks to Sensenbrenner and his fellow criminals, you will be carrying your state papers everywhere and be required to show them for everything beginning in May of 2008. Worse yet, the data the Department of Nazi Homeland Security has the power to determine what information your new State Papers will contain. So far they have said that it will contain all the standard information that the Jewish concentration camp prisoners ( www.einsatzgruppenarchives.com/ghetto/krakow/k8.jpg) were required by the Germans to carry, in addition to unnamed biometric identifiers. It looks likely that those "identifiers" will be all medical records, all financial records and bank account information, an RFID tracking chip identical to the ones used to track cattle, and retina scan data. Welcome to the land of the free. Sensenbrenner is a dangerous, treasonous criminal, so its no surprise that he now wants to dump the 22nd Amendment. The really scary part is that according to Bush's own interpretation of the law, he doesn't have to leave office. As a "war president" he claims the power to ignore constitutional law anytime he likes, and the executive orders necessary for him to cancel the next election and remain in power are already in place. We live in scary times.

BTW, look at the dates... Sensenbrenner's plan to repeal the 22nd was introduced just as his National ID Card plan was being passed.
Two plus two equals?

Why does this not fill citizens with alarm? Careful conditioning... that's why. For those who don't know it, Homeland Security has bases in every major city in the country and unfortunately we haven't seen the last of these home-grown stormtroopers. These messes will become more and more common until someone does something to rid us of this, yet another stupid, worthless government agency.

The newest law enforcement agency is on the way!
PATRIOT Act Mandates Homeland Security Police by PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS
A provision in the "Patriot Act" creates a new federal police force with power to violate the Bill of Rights. You might think that this cannot be true as you have not read about it in newspapers or heard it discussed by talking heads on TV.
Go to House Report 109-333 USA PATRIOT IMPROVEMENT AND REAUTHORIZATION ACT OF 2005 and check it out for yourself.
Sec. 605 reads:
"There is hereby created and established a permanent police force, to be known as the ’United States Secret Service Uniformed Division’."
This new federal police force is "subject to the supervision of the Secretary of Homeland Security."
The new police are empowered to "make arrests without warrant for any offense against the United States committed in their presence, or for any felony cognizable under the laws of the United States if they have reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed or is committing such felony."
The new police are assigned a variety of jurisdictions, including "an event designated under section 3056(e) of title 18 as a special event of national significance" (SENS).
A special event of national significance" is neither defined nor does it require the presence of a "protected person" such as the president in order to trigger it. Thus, the administration, and perhaps the police themselves, can place the SENS designation on any event. Once a SENS designation is placed on an event, the new federal police are empowered to keep out and to arrest people at their discretion.
The language conveys enormous discretionary and arbitrary powers. What is "an offense against the United States"?
What are "reasonable grounds"?
You can bet that the Alito/ Roberts court will rule that it is whatever the executive branch says.
The obvious purpose of the act is to prevent demonstrations at Bush/Cheney events. However, nothing in the language limits the police powers from being used only in this way. Like every law in the US, this law also will be expansively interpreted and abused.
It has dire implications for freedom of association and First Amendment rights. We can take for granted that the new federal police will be used to suppress dissent and to break up opposition. The Brownshirts are now arming themselves with a Gestapo.
Many naïve Americans will write to me to explain that this new provision in the reauthorization of the "Patriot Act" is necessary to protect the president and other high officials from terrorists or from harm at the hands of angry demonstrators: "No one else will have anything to fear."
Some will accuse me of being an alarmist, and others will say that it is unpatriotic to doubt the law’s good intentions.
Americans will write such nonsense despite the fact that the president and foreign dignitaries are already provided superb protection by the Secret Service. The naïve will not comprehend that the president cannot be endangered by demonstrators at SENS at which the president is not present. For many Americans, the light refuses to turn on.
In Nazi Germany did no one but Jews have anything to fear from the Gestapo?
By Stalin’s time Lenin and Trotsky had eliminated all members of the "oppressor class," but that did not stop Stalin from sending millions of "enemies of the people" to the Gulag.
It is extremely difficult to hold even local police forces accountable. Who is going to hold accountable a federal police protected by Homeland Security and the president?

What? You didn't know you were a lobbyist just because you called your congressman a few times last month to express your views? That, my friend, is your own fault. And because you failed to register with the government as a professional lobbyist, you - along with 2.5 million of your best friends - now face criminal charges against The Almighty State. Can't happen? Read on... then call your congressman using the link below! April 25, 2006
Lobbying reform sounds like a good idea. Who could be against it? But "reform" means different things to different people, and there's the rub.
What does lobbying "reform" mean to the political elites in Washington? It means a chance to silence the American people. Yes, they don't want to hear from you. Members of the governing class prefer the American people be silent, so they don't interfere with "governing." Does that definition of "reform" sound good to you?
The U.S. House will vote on the Lobbying Accountability and Transparency Act (H.R. 4975) on Thursday, April 27th. We strongly urge a "no" vote (while we're still allowed to speak).
After analyzing the 50-page bill, thingy Dingman of the Free Speech Coalition warns, "While Members of Congress beat their chests about their righteousness and the need to root out lobbying corruption, the bill they are considering is fraught with potential problems for innocent parties, including many nonprofit organizations."
This "reform" idea doesn't sound so good after all.
He continues, "[H.R. 4975] would criminalize a citizen's failure to register as a lobbyist. The definitions as to who is required to register are, and will continue to be confusing. Now, persons contacting the Hill on legislation, or contacting the Executive Branch on matters of policy, can be threatened with criminal prosecution. This is a trap for the American public who does not carry a lawyer on retainer. The likely effect will be to chill contact with government -- just what they want."
Yes, the governing class wants you to leave them alone. Don't interfere!
We say too bad!! Urge your U.S. representative to represent you, not the political elites, and vote "no" on H.R. 4975.

FYI, it's just about to the point where nice little places like this where folks can go and yak about stuff will be gone under federal regulations supported by both Dems and the GOP. Have a look: infowars.net/articles/may2006/020506ISPs.htm

We already have a set of quacks who want to RFID every family pet.
For people like that, doing the same to humans is a small leap.
