Okay, here's my idea... since both squadrons are flying on Oct 7th...
How 'bout if Indy and the Ghost Jasta fly the same mission on the same day and compare results? Here's what we could do:
Go to the CURRENT ISSUE and, under Dispatch Resources, click on the MISSIONS page. Select any one of the four player scenarios except "Richthofen's 63rd Victory" because we just flew that one last week. Let us know which one you select and we will fly the same mission on the same day.
On Saturday night or Sunday morning - immediately after the mission - send me a write up of the game complete with scoring and we'll include both stories side by side in the next issue of ISD. Also, the Ghost Jasta write up will be listed as permanent part of the page (the page of the mission that you selected) so that others who fly the same mission in the future can compare their result to yours.
Does that sound interesting and fun? What say ye?

GREAT idea!! The only issue is when Mike is in town we usually have 6-10 players, making a 4 player scenario difficult. BUT- I am playing tonight with a foursome and we are introducing a new player to the game. This would be perfect for 'The Last Battle of Heinrich Bongartz' scenario! I will run that one tonight, and then if possible on the 7th we can run it again with Mike, but just expand it to include the extra players. I'll do a write-up on tonight & send it on!

Some missions are designed for a flexible number of players... let me check the missions page and see what other options we have.

I'm not sure if we'll have six players or not... it will depend on the Richeson's showing up. If they do, we're good.
If we can get six here in Indy, we can run Battle Over Lateau Wood. Its a great mission and its only ever been flown once, in Illinois in 1989. Come to think, I still have my mission log from that game and remember it well... I should write up a report (17 years late) and post it on that mission's page.
THat is really a good, detailed mission and its VERY unique. See what you think and I'll check for six players here in Indy.
Also, remember to send me a write up for any and all historic missions you fly from our missions page... I'd love to permanently post the results. You can also submit missions for inclusion on that page if you have any.

We ran "The Last Battle of Heinrich Bongartz" last night and had quite the battle that lasted 19 turns! I will do a write-up and send it off soon.
As far as special missions, we have a great 'Birthday Mission' tradition that has no historical relevance, but is great fun. I’ll do a write up on that as well, but it involves a lone Alb DIII that is allowed quint ace status (the player w/ a birthday) to take on 3-6 British D.H.2’s. It always turns out to be a fun mission full of laughs!

How on earth did the Tripe last 19 turns??! I can't wait to read this one. The birthday mission sounds fun, too...
