I've read some criticisms of the story line (typical mandatory/fictionalized love story), but it sounds like they've put alot of work into historic accuracy and realistism with the planes and flight sequences.

The audience reviews after a sneak peak at the film (minus some of the action sequences which weren't done yet) was SOOOOO bad that the existence of the film was apparently at stake. Since then they've won a few more fans with better trailers, but I'm reserving judgment. I hope they salvage it and make it a great film, but be warned, Katie Otersdorf is turned into a love interest in the original script. Eek.

Wow. Just incredible. I hope that the guys who made Flyboys are looking at this and thinking, "hey, look what we could have done if we were more imaginative."

The movie has already been released in Germany, as I understand it, but not yet in the USA. I hear that they depart from the true story pretty freely, but then so did FLYBOYS and it was still fun.
