The VDP game last night brought up an issue I found worthy of discussion. An aircraft landed behind enemy lines and was in danger of being forced to make the capture roll. The problem I found is that the rules say the roll must be made every turn. If each game turn is roughly 10 seconds of real time, is it realistic to be rolling for possible capture every ten seconds? I'd think rolling once would suffice. What does the DP community think about this rule and have there been any changes to it since the 7th edition came out 30+ years ago?

A turn represents 20 seconds. If your aircraft can takeoff again, you roll every turn for capture. If it or you cannot takeoff again, you roll for a 1 on a d6 to evade capture. If you do not evade, you are captured. You then have to roll a 1 on a d6 to escape. If you do not, you are a POW for the duration.
