Hey guys,
We have stats and fly dates for the Dornier, but no hit location chart for a quad motor plane. Anyone have one of these?
Thanks

You'll probably have to create one. The tri motor Caproni may already have stats that can be adapted though.

I would contact Al Christensen about, he may have one or may be working on one
Thanks George

The giant seaplane Rs III was a high-wing monoplane of all-metal design with fabric covering of the wing and empennage. The intrinsically stable hull was a monocoque design made of duraluminium with traverse and longitudinal steps. The hull housed the gun station, the flight deck for two pilots, the engineer's station and the fuel system. The four Maybach engines were arranged in tandem in two nacelles and installed between the hull and the wing. The tail boom was mounted on the wing and had a box-type horizontal tail assembly with split elevator without compensating surfaces; the rudders and tail fins were divided into halves by the fuselage. First flight took place on November 4, 1917. On 19 February 1918, a 7-hour non stop flight was made from Friedrichshafen to Norderney for further testing by the Seaplane Test Command Warnemonde.

The trick to this will be to figure out how many entered service and when, that will give you the percentages to figure for the rollup charts. Could be this plane only has a 1% chance of being rolled up.

Anyone have a drawing I can use to make a counter?

Anyone have anything to add to this topic before I make a fool out of myself in the next aerodrome

Again, you might want to verify if it ever flew combat missions and if so how many there were doing it, that'll be what's used to determine the percentage chance on the roll up charts (provided you can get past the instrinic resistance to all things not created in Wisconsin.... LOL).

I suspect that the only reason the high compression stuff was accepted as quickly as happened was because Scott threw SO many well researched facts into it that no one could refute him.

1. The problem with EF, FF, RF is that you want to develop a chart you can use for all aircraft in the class, in this case Giants. When I set up the bi-motor charts, the problem was that in some cases the pilot was in front, sometimes the back, or sometimes the middle. To make the critical hit charts work, the pilot has to sit in the forward fuselage.
2) If I remember correctly only one or two Do. Rs III were constructed. I considered using one as a judge's aircraft in a tournament once, but gave it up because I couldn't come up with a hit chart I liked. If you can come up with satisfactory charts that would be a good way to use it.
3) You'll also need to figure the effects of engine criticals on performance.

I've got some hit charts I like, but they are set up for the tractor pusher engine style and I don't think they would work with say 4 across. I also believe I am using your critical effects:)

When I did my WWII conversion of the rules, I simply used the 2-engine chart and ruled hits against LW/RW also counted as Engines 3/4.
This usually meant rolling crits twice against the wing until the engine in that wing was destroyed (1 x wing crit chance, 1 x engine crit chance).
With the number of MG and Cannon being used, even the bombers went down very quickly anyway.

Ok think I have all my stuff together. They constructed 1 Dornier RS3 and it flew the last 6 months of the war with the Giantplane squadron. So it will only be a 1% chance of rolling one on a bombing mission.
I have plane charts and stats that I like.(Hopefully you all will too) Is there anything else I should add into my article?
I will take all the advice I can get. That is such a lie...I will LISTEN to all the advice I can get.
Well at least thats true. ;D
