Hey, I'd like to suggest that as many of the Indy Squadron as we can get show up for the opening weekend of Flyboys - a group outing to see the movie!! Opening weekend is 9-22 (yes, I know it conflicts with the release of Jackass 2, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice for the glory of WW1 aviation....).
Anyone in? If so, reply here. I will offer to coordinate location and time.

That sounds like fun. I'm in. Alice and SD will probably join us. Wanna wait til Monday night for the weekend crowds to die down, or opt for the 1st showing on Saturday morning? Crowds are awful. Boo. Hiss.

For those poor schlubs among us that punch a clock, Monday morning is not a good choice (although it'd be MUCH more fun than working, no doubt there). So I'm thinking anytime Saturday, and we can probably pull in some other folks like HP flight maybe.

Alice is in as well... she's interested though she doesn't get to play as much anymore. SD says he loves the idea and would like to play some games that day as well to double our fun.
Aussi, I was suggesting Monday evening, not a matinee. But the earliest showing Saturday would be okay, too.

Dunno if you guys can DP twice in the same month or not, but it we can make a day of it perhaps Ken can come down for the film outing, too.

Okay, here's my suggestion:
On Saturday, Sept 23rd, we go to Kerasotes Theater Showplace 16 in Greenwood off I-465 at Southern Plaza, which seems to be a good central location between the east side, south side and Gamerz.
IF THE FIRST SHOWING IS AT 12:30 PM OR EARLIER - we meet at the theatre 30 minutes before showtime. After the show we drive directly to Gamerz (a straight shot south on Meridian St.) and game the rest of the evening.
IF THE FIRST SHOWING IS LATER THAN 12:30 PM - we rendevous at Gamerz at 10 am and play a warm-up game before the movie, then go see the film, then return to Gamerz for DP for the rest of the evening.
Let's make a day of it... what say ye?

I got hold of Ken and invited him to our outing this weekend, but he is unable to come. Can't afford the trip this time since he was just here two wks ago. That's too bad, I was really hoping he could make it.

Dory has suggested that we switch from Kerasotes near I-465 to AMC Theaters in the Greenwood Park Mall, only five minutes from Gamerz. That sounds like a good idea to me. Does that sound okay for everyone?

I don't get it... Gamerz is already south of the mall, and you suggested that we play a N.17/DrI mission prior to the movie. Doesn't that mean we're already south of the Greenwood mall theater, and going there actually saves you driving all the way north to the interstate again?
Any theater is fine by me but if we're already down at Gamerz before the movie, how is Kerasotes not a longer drive?

Any theater is fine by me but if we're already down at Gamerz before the movie, how is Kerasotes not a longer drive? Check your geography, Gamerz is like 10 minutes North of Greenwood Park. I'd really rather stay at the 465-31 location if you don't mind. And anyone who might be driving from Fishers/Castleton might appreciate it also. Thank you for your consideration. ;D |
