So, we opted to stay with the 1-2 only (which if I'd bothered to read ALL the rules I would have seen the 3 was a hit - and I would not have shifted down a column on the HO shots I gave Stephen and Kevin). Didn't know you shifted down on that turn. So, did you find out that pilot hits can occur for normal ability observers on a 1-3 roll? I looked it up at the time and couldn't find anything, but that doesn't mean its not there. According to Al, yes, obs get 1-3 on probables at that level. He says it's standard. I think we didn't know cos none of us here have ever gotten a 2 seat crew that high. I shifted down the entire game (well, down then back up 2), so in essense only shifting up 1 the whole game.

This is all from memory but here goes:
It's on the 8th Ed hand-out for nationality. The 7th Ed experience bene's only go up to single ace for observers.
Those guys aren't from my roster. They are historical members of Schusta 24B with their experience approximated to suit the benefit the Germans were to get from the Secret Envelope. Whoever was flying them should acquire a new 1/0 crew.

It's on the 8th Ed hand-out for nationality. Then the call at the table was correct either way. A 250' head-on shot by a 38M observer does not hit on a "3"... it must be 200' or less by the 8th Ed. hand out (I just checked). 38M of experience does qualify for a pilot hit on a roll of 1-3, but only if the shot is within 200'. My mission log shows that I was at 100' (firing at Wyatt, who was also at 100'), Rick was at 50', and Wyatt's plane between us. That makes a 250' head-on shot, which hits on a 1-2 and the roll resulted in a 3... clean miss. Anyone second that?

Good, cause its lousy to have a dark cloud follow one of your pilots for the rest of his days! I was sure it was a hit until you mentioned the observer's shifting... think what a scoring mess that would have been if the hit had been taken. Eek.

Yes, it is good, but INACCURATE!!!! Ken Mrozak won The Adventures of Jack Kelso II flying Mader (75/42) as Herman Goering against SUPER ACE Jack Kelso in his Bristol! He scored a double for his 43rd and 44th kills, incuding forcing Kelso down, and scoring the highest point total of ANY DP game of the convention. However, I must point out that Stephen was probably unaware of this information at the time of the release of this issue.

I apologize for the omission; I was not in that game and wasn't aware of the results or it certainly would have been included. Congratulations! I'll make up for it soon... your pilots will get their due when they're interred in the Indy Squadron Cemetery. Their bodies are still in transit to Germany at the moment.
