Just as we thought we had the whole Silver Goblet thing streamlined, our supplier has switched product lines. Boo, hiss. For several years it was easy to hop down to the Things Remembered store and have their plain silver flute engraved for RBF. But now they've dropped the plain flute and carry only goblets associated with weddings... decorated with hearts, rings, etc.
I repeat, boo, hiss.
So now we must choose from what is available. We have two options.
The first is this almost-sorta-plain goblet. A pair of them now runs $60 instead of the old $45, plus engraving. (They only come in pairs). I fear it may bankrupt us. Eek. Here is a picture of it: www.thingsremembered.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_571131_-1_1
The other option is to go back to a tankard, ala 1994, instead of a goblet or flute. The good news is that you can buy one at a time thus reducing our costs, and the actual tankard (which I saw in the store today) is considerably more attractive than the photo and has a nice sheen to it, and you can actually drink from it.
The bad news is that it is made of black nickel or stainless steel instead of genuine silver plating. Here is a picture, and ignore the "out of stock" thing... I was there today and they have them:

So, what'll it be, mates? The available, less expensive silver tankard or the slightly overdecorated silver flute?
My vote is for the tankard. We've had tankards before, this one looks very nice with a silver-black sheen, and it will engrave nicely. The flute looks too wedding-like for me and costs too much to buy in pairs.
Vote quick... I gotta get this done by Friday.
PS- I'm really interested to hear from those who are playing, but those who cannot make it are welcome to speak in an advisory capacity.
