Wow, that second game last night sure was a marathon. I had to give up and escape after 14 turns because I was so tired I couldn't see straight. It started out as two SE's against a pair of Albatri. Andy had to escape with his Albatros which left myself and Kevan in our SE's battling Michael. The awkward gun arrangement of the SE and some really poor shooting on our part meant every time we shot we got only two or three hits. We took turns tailing Michael but he kept shaking us. As I mentioned, I had to leave but who knows, maybe they're still playing.
The first mission saw 3 Albs against 3 SPAD VII's. We mixed it up for a short while before the SPADs turned tail and fled. Lucky for me though because I was flying an Albatros that was perennially stuck on the number 11 when it came to rolling numbers. Three 11's in a row has to be some sort of record. Funny thing was on a turn right after that streak I rolled a 4 and was giddy with anticipation, thinking I'd go last. Problem was, of the other four planes on the board, three were in a tailing chain and the first plane in the chain had rolled a 3. It's funny how stuff like that works out...
All in all, it was fun evening of gaming last night. Looking forward to playing on Thursday night.

Poor shooting is right! I took 5 shots over 14 turns, 3 from 50-100' and 2 from 150-200'. I hit one time, and rolled 1 damage for each gun. Figured out the odds of shooting that poorly, and it was something like 1:400. Add the chance of doing minimum damage the one time I did hit, and it was about 1:7000.
I finally game up and dove for home the turn after Kirk, with critical hits on my engine and wing that had me to -20 turning speed.

Thanks for all of the after-action reports guys. It is great to be able to read through this when I have a moment to take a break at work. I would like to suggest an AAR log area for the VDP website. That way we do not have to hunt for them in the forums. Just a thought.

On second thought - I would actually volunteer to provide an After Action Report tool for our matches. The VDP page could link to it. If this is something that has not yet been done, and I would not be stepping on any toes, then I could put it together fairly quickly. Please let me know.

Every VDP game report that has been written was carried in the very next issue of ISD. I'd love to have AAR's for every VDP game played, and they would all be in the Dispatch.
Email them to me, I'll put them in ISD, and you'll never have to search for AAR's again. They'll be in a dedicated section of every issue. I'm all for it!
If you prefer to put it somewhere else I'll be glad to link to it... however, since ISD is the home of VDP, it might be best to leave everything here in one central location. Your call.

Maybe each of us that plays in a particular game should provide input to whoever writes up the AAR. Otherwise, the writer won't have the details about what happened to each of us. I actually write a short "personal" AAR for each game I play from the point of view of my pilot. I could provide those to whoever writes up the overall AAR for the game.
