We've chosen a date for my gaming club's annual convention, and we're starting to think about events that we want to run. In the past, I think we've only ever had one Dawn Patrol event, and I was shot down in the first 5 minutes of that one. I feel the lack of Dawn Patrol representation at our Con is a travesty, and I would like to rectify it this year. That being said, is there anyone out there that is close enough to Pittsburgh that you would be willing to come out and join in on a game? Or, even better yet, run a game? I can run, but my experience is somewhat limited. The last couple of years we have been getting about 100 people, and have been steadily growing each year. We do have some local DP players including myself, but in the past they have either been unable to attend the Con, or have been involved in other games during the time slots I've tried to run a DP game. Thus, my desire to recruit some outside people to get a game going. So, if you're interested, please let me know. You can get more info about our club and about the Con at our web site www.gaspgamer.com. Last year, our fee was only $20 for the entire weekend, with no cost per event. Hopefully I will see some of you in the skies above Pittsburgh in November!

Cool. Where are you at?
By the way, if you run an event, you get at least some of your money refunded (if I remember correctly, you get back one day's registration if you run one event, both days if you run two or more). I think we also usually get a discounted rate at the hotel. I believe that is usually $99/night.
Hope to see you there!

I'll check my calendar... might be a nice side trip. If Rick goes, I might, too.

If we come can we just set up a Dawn Patrol table rather than try to fit in a slotted game?

If we come can we just set up a Dawn Patrol table rather than try to fit in a slotted game? Absolutely! In fact, that sounds like a much better idea. If you want, we could even list it for every slot as "Open Dawn Patrol Gaming" or something like that. That way if there are people that want to sign up in a specific slot, they can. We're pretty flexible on how we do things. We use Warhorn for all our event registrations, but we haven't opened it up yet for this year's con. I can let you all know when we do though. If you want to see last year's, it's at: www.warhorn.net/gaspcon8/Feel free to direct any questions you have to me. I'm not the main organizer for the con, but I help out with some of the planning. I'm glad to hear that some of you are interested, I'm looking forward to meeting you all and getting some DP in!

This beat western have a restaurant? I don't think there is a restaurant that is run by the hotel, but there is a pretty decent Chinese restaurant that is right next door to the hotel. There are also a ton of other restaurants that are a short drive from the hotel (and a couple within walking distance).

If anyone's interested in registering to run an event at GASP-Con, we are now accepting event registrations. If you run one event, we will refund 50% of your registration fees. If you run two or more, we will refund the full amount after the con. www.eonsreach.com/gasp/gasp_con/gms.htmlIf anyone has any questions, let me know.
